This Friday, the summer gets hotter when Si*Se’ and Groove Collective blaze the stage of the Black Cat. The eclectic ensemble of Groove Collective will spark the evening off with their Latin- Jazz-Funk stylings. This sonic mix can easily be attributed to the two musical directors of the band, namely saxman, Jay Rodriguez, who toured with the legendary Eddie Palmieri and Ray Barretto, and Jonathan Maron whose basslines infuse contemporary soul with modern identity( as can be heard in the irrefutable grooves of Naked Music, Agent K, and Maxwell’s “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder)”.

Following the heat of Groove Collective’s opening set will be the intense sextet of Si*Se’ who are returning to DC in support of their new disc, More Shine. Si*Se' developed their trademark sound by melding viola, percussion, and electronica with the velvet textures of vocalist, DJ Carol C. The band will emanate a seductive vibe that will keep you entranced and dancing thru the night.

It all goes down,
