Life is patently unfair, that is what most of us believe, specially when we are down and (on the way) out and life continues to hail its blows. We completely fail to see the turn of events as an indication of a new direction or an introduction of a new dimension. We are so full of frustration and anger at fate that we fail to make space for the fresh and the new. But most times an acceptance is all that it takes for the new and more vibrant to become part of your life - an acceptance of life as it is, an acceptance of the situation that you find yourself in. Professor Keshav Bharadawaj, now widowed and in his late sixties suffers a paralytic stroke in an accident. His son and daughter though very concerned are unable to care for him due to their work compulsions. When looming ahead is the deplorable prospect of the ministrations of a nurse he is communally prejudiced against or the even more deplorable prospect of an old age home – he is ready to curse fate roundly for this cruel blow. However, the stroke is not irreversible. There is yet that chance for him to accept the situation, take up the challenge, transcend his angst and perhaps earn a caring new friend.
