The Interview: From attic to $ 1.4 billion-Paula Long & the ride of a lifetime!

Interviewed by Matt Pierson, Chairman of the New Hampshire High Technology Council, active angel investor, and former CEO of DTC Communications.

Who is Paula Long? High Tech Women to watch honoree, winner of the New Hampshire High Technology Council 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year, and co-founder of Equallogic, now Dell/EqualLogic storage software and equipment maker.

Last year, Long and cofounders Peter Hayden and Paul Koning sold their six year-old company storage technology company to Dell Inc. for $1.4 billion. Based in Nashua, N.H., EqualLogic raised $52 million in equity capital since it was founded in 2001.

Paula Long is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience in delivering innovative technology solutions. She has extensive experience in managing strategic product development in the areas of operating system design, real-time systems, and enterprise software.

As director of enterprise products at Allaire Corporation, she was responsible for application load balancing and high availability products shipping with ColdFusion and JRun. Long also served as director of engineering for Bright Tiger Technologies, overseeing all aspects of the award-winning ClusterCATS product line. Earlier in her career, Long held senior engineering positions at Digital Equipment Corporation. It was there that she met two other DEC employees that would ultimately reunite as EqualLogic's founders. Now a division of Dell, EqualLogic employs more than 400 people in New Hampshire.

Come hear Paula's unforgettable story!
