Mission Spring Open Studios at WorkSpace Ltd. April 23, 2010

Preview Friday, April 23, 7-10pm; Open Studios Sat-Sun, April 24-25, 11am-6pm both days

Approximately 30 artists will open their studios to the public at WorkSpace, Ltd for the Annual Spring Mission Open Studios weekend. Many are award winning artists who have displayed throughout the United States and Internationally, as well as in the Bay area. Along with WorkSpace, about 10 other studio buildings in the Mission District, all within comfortable walking distance, will also be open this weekend. Guide maps to these other buildings will be available at WorkSpace Ltd.

Friday evening, April 23rd, in the downstairs gallery, there will be a preview of art from those artists whose studios will be open. The WorkSpace gallery show will be curated by Steven Lopez of ArtZone 461 Gallery, one of San Francisco's leading contemporary Art Galleris. Musical entertainment will be presented and studios will be open from 7 - 10pm. Studios will re-open at 11 am on Sat. and Sun. and remain open until 6pm both days. Come and enjoy wonderful art and meet the artists who created this art.

WorkSpace is home to many professional artists who have contributed much to the arts in our community, including workshops, teaching and curating. Their solo and group show records are long and impressive. Come meet them and see why they are recognized as some of the most creative members of the art community. As you wander through the corridors of the building, venturing into studios, also take time to view the art that lines these corridors. Unique architectural features and skylights ad to the atmosphere and enhance the art viewing. Whether you are looking for art to enhance your home or business or just brousing, you are more than welcome.

The WorkSpace building is an old laundry facility, located at 2150 Folsom Street between 17th and 18th. There is convenient street parking and easy bus access. The muni 22, 33, 14, 49 and 27 lines are within a few blocks and the 12 Folsom line stops a half a block away. The Bart Station at 16th and Mission is a 7 minute walk away.
