Based on the series of books by Harry Allard and James Marshall, this delightful play was adapted by Joan Cushing. Miss Nelson is a new teacher who despite all her efforts cannot get her class to listen, learn, and behave. One day, the Principal announces that Miss Nelson is sick and will be out indefinitely. Her place is taken by a mean and snarley alter ego Ms. Viola Swamp. Soon, the kids are begging and plotting for the return of Miss Nelson. This joyous, hilarious musical is a lesson for all children who look forward to the days when substitute teachers arrive to be greeted with tricks and abuse. After Viola Swamp, Miss Nelson's students will never misbehave again.
