This play introduces the Wickstead family, their friends and acquaintances, for whom the determination to put sex and satisfaction of the body before everything else is the ruling passion of their lives. Set in England in Brighton’s plush silk stocking district of Hove during the halcyon days of the 1960’s permissive society, Alan Bennett’s gorgeous seaside farce is a glorious confusion of crossed wires, mistaken identities and offbeat encounters. Fast moving, hilarious and guaranteed to make you laugh out loud, Habeas Corpus celebrates the joys of the human body; a seaside postcard bursting into life in Bennett’s inimitable style. As Dr. Wickstead says, “He who lusts last, lusts longest!”
The cast includes David Blumenstock, Nathan Bock, Kestrel Burley, Jon Diack, Verl Hite, Bethany Lillis, Adam Perkes, Deborah Persoff, Lindsey Pierce, Theresa Reid and Todd Sorenson.
"A marvelous, freaky farce... rowdy and ribald."-NBC
