Born in Victoria, Australia, Michael Charles picked up his first guitar at the age of five, tutored by his father, and a spark ignited that fired him on to produce numerous singles and albums totaling twenty-six releases thus far. Michael Charles has appeared on over 30 television shows and received airplay on over 75 radio stations during his career in Australia. In the height of his Australian career, Charles received a request from the management of his long time hero, Mr. Buddy Guy, to come to America and perform on stage at Buddy Guy's Legends. A true highlight of his career, this two week trip has lasted for 18 years. Along with performing with the likes of Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, James Cotton, Willie Cobbs, Junior Wells, Eddy Clearwater and more, Michael also took his own band and made his way to the stages of the Chicago Blues Fest, New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival, Philadelphia Blues Fest, and a host of others. In the awards category, Michael Charles has been recognized by the Grammy Award Association electing him in four different Grammy years, including the 53rd Grammy awards in 2011.
