A Pro-Fusion of Music
at Gusman Hall
The Concert of the Year everyone is talking about! May 16th, 7pm.
For concert-goers in the mood for something soulful with an international POP flavor, Natural Awakenings and Dream Provider has the ticket on May 16 – a triple bill featuring the group Here II Here and two local promising singer-songwriters, Samantha Natalie and Ria at the Gusman Hall.
Here II Here has been moving crowds to a frenzy with its rhythmic blend of tribal pop, illuminated rock, and soul-inspired R&B harmonies resonating with innovatively inspirational lyrics of peace, awareness, connection, laughter, and of course – love. The group has performed at venues as varied as the United Nations, Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica, and American Airlines Arena. WHERE magazine says a Here II Here concert is like “a spiritual revival where listeners feel uplifted, happy, perhaps even enlightened.” The kind of music that makes you standup and dance. Feel the power of their rhythm at www.hereiihere.com.
Joining Here II Here on the Gusman Hall stage are two female singer/songwriters, both of whom began performing as children. Ria has shared the stage with salsa icon Ruben Blades and with rock artist Melissa Etheridge and is about to release her first single, “Alright,” from her forthcoming debut album titled simply “Ria.”
Samantha Natalie, has been writing her own original music for the past seven years and has appeared onstage with Kevin Mahogany and Jon Secada. Her influences include female singer/songwriters such as Carol King, Carly Simon, Sheryl Crow and Tori Amos, Her sound is unique, soulful, and classic. Her first album appeared in 2006, “Samantha Natalie.” You can sample her sounds at www.myspace.com/samanthanatalie.
