MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA transforms the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, into a multisensory experience featuring high-energy live music and DJs with cocktails and dancing, in an event space designed by IKEA Houston. Exclusive to the MFAH for this event, local designer Ali Rapp—known for her popular line with Anna Sui—is creating a limited-edition tablet cover using IKEA’s newly unveiled textile line. The first 100 guests in the door receive a complimentary tablet cover to take home. Additional covers will be available for purchase through The MFAH Shop while supplies last.

Drop the Lime brings his unmistakable blend of dance-music wizardry and rockabilly dive-bar blues to the MFAH dance floor. Synonymous with the New York club scene, DTL has wowed audiences from SXSW to the Australian festival circuit. The night’s featured DJs are Damon Allen (haters make us famous); Reverberation DJs; and the resident DJ, Ceeplus Bad Knives. Music is curated by Reprogram Multimedia. Lighting, sound and staging are provided by PRO/SOUND. The official beer is Stella Artois.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 4, at www.mfah.org/mixedmedia online; 713.639.7771 by phone; and in person at the MFAH during regular museum hours. Purchase tickets by Thursday, September 20, to receive a discount. Additional discounts are available for MFAH members and IKEA Family members. Space is limited. Advance purchase is recommended. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Guests must be age 18 or older. A cash bar will be available. Only ages 21 and older may consume alcoholic beverages.

The MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA series of late-night parties continues monthly on Friday nights with a finely tuned rotation of diverse musical performers. Mark your calendar for the events on October 26, November 16 and December 21.
