Handel's Messiah , among the most recognized and beloved musical works in history, has been interpreted in countless ways since its premiere in 1742-but never quite like this! Atlanta's Several Dancers Core originally adapted Messiah as part of the company's 20th anniversary celebration. Now, just in time for the Lenten and Easter seasons, the troupe will collaborate with Trinity Baroque Orchestra to revive the intimate quality of the work as it was originally performed by four singers and played on period instruments. The musicians and dancers work together to transform the piece into a glorious, illuminated manuscript with movement adding color and meaning to the composition's rich text and score.
