Merola Grand Finale August 20, 2011

As the culmination of the Merola summer, this critically acclaimed concert is not to be missed. This very special performance stars the singers of the Merola Opera Program who were selected from over 800 applicants to participate in this world-renowned summer program.

Celebrate with the Merola participants at this thrilling evening of arias and captivating ensembles. Maestro Debus and the San Francisco Opera Orchestra join Merola participants as they showcase their talent and the progress made during the Merola summer. A great opportunity to see and hear these future opera headliners! Performed on the grand, elegant stage of the War Memorial Opera House, the Grand Finale is a true highlight of the summer.

After the concert, come congratulate the artists on their success and bid them a special farewell at the festive post-concert reception in the Green Room. (Reception tickets sold separately.)

The Merola Opera Program is dedicated to the continuing education and training of the finest young operatic talent and the development of this talent into professional opera singers, coaches and stage directors of the highest artistic caliber. Merola operates in close artistic collaboration with San Francisco Opera but is an independent nonprofit organization. Governed by a separate board of directors, Merola is responsible for its own long-term financial stability and fundraising, and is grateful to the hundreds of loyal members, donors and foundations who support the Program.
