The next Melbourne Web Standards Group meeting will be on Thursday 29 June, and once again we have two interesting speakers:

* Paul Fenwick, an experienced trainer and seasoned presenter, will be giving a talk entitled "Presentation Mind Control", an entertaining insight into how you can improve your public speaking skills.
* Andrew Arch, from Vision Australia will be sharing some of his expertise and extensive experience of building accessible web sites.

6:30pm - 7:00pm -- Food, drinks, networking
7:00pm - 7:45pm -- Paul Fenwick on Presentation Mind Control
7:45pm - 8:30pm -- Andrew Arch on Web Accessibility

Meetings are held at the Victorian government's excellent Centre for Innovation & Technology Commercialisation (Level 1, 257 Collins Street), opposite "Australia on Collins".

There is no cost to attend. No, really! Food and beverages are kindly being made available thanks to SitePoint. SitePoint is a Melbourne-based company who, when not handing out free food, publish articles and books about best-practice web development, with a focus on web standards. Their discussion forums are also home to the most active web development community on the Web.

Other Important Stuff

Please ensure you arrive well before the presentation begins. The door will be locked to the public by 7pm so it is important you arrive on time. Besides, how could you pass up free food?

For catering purposes, please register for this event via the Melbourne WSG online calendar. Click on the event and select the "Register for this event" link, where you will be asked to enter your name and an email address.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone interested in best-practice web design or development is welcome to attend. The meetings are very informal and we always allow time for open discussion.

One of our strong points is that the group has a broad range of skills and interests within the web development area (Flash, PHP, Ruby, DOM Scripting, CSS, XML, usability, accessibility etc). This means that discussions are always lively. All of us are interested in web standards!
