Katz has taught criminal law at Case Western Reserve for 40 years, earning a reputation as an expert in his field, and the 4th Amendment in particular. He has published several books on criminal law and procedure and been cited in over 400 cases and news articles.

Katz will face incumbent Rep. Steve LaTourette in November.
