Las Cruces, NM – Photographer Roy Jacobson will meet with visitors on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Branigan Cultural Center. Jacobson’s photographic essay on barbershops of the U.S.-Mexico border region is currently on display at the Center. Copies of his book, Barberia: Barber Shops of the Borderlands, will be available during the event.

Jacobson grew up in northwest Wisconsin and discovered his love of photography at an early age trekking through the many forests and streams in that area. As a freelance photographer, his cameras of choice are a 4 x 5 Crown Graphic and a 6 x 7 Mamiya. He divides his time between Kalispell, Montana and the Sonoran Desert region of Arizona and Mexico.

The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the downtown mall in Las Cruces. The exhibits and events are free and open to the public.
