Meet Green Party Leader at Organic Earth Magazine booth, Metro Convention Centre October 14

Elizabeth May, newly elected leader of the Green Party of Canada, will be urging Canadians to activate their citizenship when she appears at the Holistic World Expo in Toronto Oct. 14. May, who this spring turned in her position as the executive director of the Sierra Club of Canada for a role in politics, will share advice from her new book How to Save the World in Your Spare Time at the Expo, a natural health exhibition held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
A respected environmentalist, activist, lawyer, writer and Officer of the Order of Canada, May is no stranger to the idea of personal sacrifice for a good cause. May’s family once lost their home in the Maritimes when they took on the authorities in court to oppose herbicide spraying, and her mother was a key player in the fight against nuclear testing in the 1950s.
How to Save the World in Your Spare Time, [Key Porter Books] is a primer for citizens who want to make a difference, whether they’re running a meeting or saving a species. May will speak at the Holistic World Expo on Sat. Oct. 14 at 4:00 p.m. How to Save the World in Your Spare Time can be purchased for a discount at the Organic Earth Magazine (OEM) booth, where May will sign copies after her appearance.
