The Meadowview Theatre is celebrating its 45th anniversary on July 14th and, as part of the festivities, is featuring a special midnight movie from each decade during its new film series, “Midnight at the Meadowview.” In light of Friday the 13th (July 13th), the midnight movie series will kick off with the classic horror film from the 1960s “Night of the Living Dead” (rated-R). Fans will be thrilled to see this classic movie as they have never seen it before – presented on Meadowview’s new “state of the art” digital sound and projection system. Admission is $5.50.

Released in 1968, “Night of the Living Dead” follows Ben Huss (Duane Jones), Barbra (Judith O'Dea), and five others trapped in a rural farmhouse in Pennsylvania while the house is attacked by undead corpses known as 'ghouls'. “Night of the Living Dead” is the origin of five other Living Dead films directed by George A. Romero, and is considered to be the grandfather of zombie movies.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming films from the decades that will be celebrated during Midnight at the Meadowview:

August 10 – “Jaws” (1975)
September 14 – “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981)
More classic films to follow in the months ahead!
