Queen's own MC Shan helped usher in rap's Golden Age with his contributions to his cousin Marley Marl's Juice Crew All-Stars. Shan was the voice behind the classic old school jam "The Bridge," the record which put Queens on the hip-hop map. It also sparked one of the most entertaining and celebrated "beefs" in hip-hop history: the lyrical battle between Shan and Boogie Down Productions' KRS-One. Shan's debut Down By Law, released when "The Bridge Wars" were in full swing, was named one of the 100 "Best Rap Albums of All Time" by The Source magazine.
