Maurizio Ferraris is Professor at the University of Turin, Department of Philosophy, and Director of the Center for Theoretical and Applied Ontology (CTAO).

Professor Ferraris has published more than twenty books on aesthetics, hermeneutics, and ontology. He has focused on literary and philosophical phenomena such as Structuralism, Nihilism, and Deconstruction, and on authors such as Kant, Nietzsche, Hegel, Proust, and Heidegger, among others. Ferraris has also co-authored books with Jacques Derrida as well writing on Derrida's philosophy. His latest works concern "documentality" as "social ontology" and the crisis of religion.
