In the crowded New York reggae scene, Hasidic reggae musician Matisyahu literally stands out like no other. With his long beard and black hat, this young lyricist, MC and beatboxer is a singular performer whose power, poetry and skills combine the sounds of Bob Marley and Shlomo Carlebach while remaining wholly original. What happens when groove-laden reggae and frenetic rock meet a violin sonata at a house party?
