After a year's break, the MassTransit mongs are back, and in typical moomin-style, have given themselves 2 weeks to push a party.

Next weekend we welcome the lovely Alison Marks, she is a very accomplished DJ and has been to lots of places.

Alison Marks:

In 1996 Alison was the first female dj to win Muzik magazine's Bedroom Bedlam, a mixtape competition also won by James Zabiela and Will Saul, and began hosting a show on pirate radio Frequency FM . After moving to London, her popularity rose fast and she played all over UK at clubs and nights such as The End, Fabric, Plastic People, Robodisco, Wiggle, Secret Sundaze, The Cross, Turnmills and also internationally.

Over the years Alison has played at Twilo (New York), Muna (Germany), Otv (Croatia), Moog (Barcelona), The Room (Valencia), Weekend (Madrid), Goa (Madrid), Tlv (Israel), Pervert (Mexico), Paradise Garage (Portugal), Radost FX (Prague), Tropical House (Los Angeles), and a wealth of other clubs across trhe world. She has also played a number of festivals: Extrema (Holland), I Love Techno (Belgium), Mysteryland (Holland), Koneisto Festival (Finland) and Exit Festival (2002 Serbia) and held overseas residencies in Bogota Columbia and Amsterdam, alongside London residencies at The Laundry and Turnmills as well as hosting a monthly show on Groovetech radio.

In 2002 she was offered the chance to host her own weekly night at Propaganda club in Moscow. The night developed into a monster..it was meant to last a few months but lasted almost 2 years.

After a few years break she started to build up her studio again and is finally seeing results from all the hard work. Two of her tracks - Rothschild's Violin and Focomentry - were picked up by Steve Bug and released on Dessous in March 2006. Another ; Galapagos will be realeased by Punkā€™id records in October 2007.

She will launch a new label 'Lichen recordings' in april 2007 with DJ Onlee. The first release will be by Nooncat remixed by Touane and second will be her own track 'Yellow Cherry' remixed by Tigerskin and Mike Shannon.

Alison recently went back to college to study sound art and is about to release a mix CD in Russia
