Carolyn Dean is a professor in the History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of California - Santa Cruz. Among other works, she is the author of Inka Bodies and the Body of Christ: Corpus Christi in Colonial Cuzco, Peru (1999) and "Hybridity and its Discontents: Considering Visual Culture in Colonial Spanish America" (2003).

This talk is presented in conjunction with the Department of Art HIstory at the University of St. Thomas and the Maya Society of Minnesota.
