Maskanda is a style of South African music created in the early 20th century by Zulu workers migrating between their rural homes and jobs in the cities. Their songs embrace home, roots, and family. Shiyani Ngcobo (shee-YAWN-nee en-COH-boh) is a maskanda guru and magically gifted guitarist.
