Mary Randlett is best known for documenting the artists, poets, writers and thinkers of the Pacific Northwest. Since 1949, she has been a frontline witness to the cultural evolution of the region. Her photographs are in more than forty permanent collections nationwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Smithsonian Institution. Nearly twenty of her works are contained in Tacoma Art Museum's permanent collection. Randlett has also received many honors including the 2001 Artist Trust Lifetime Achievement Award. This exhibition highlights Randlett's deep passion for the landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Her images celebrate the beauty of the Puget Sound.
