A Cappella Books starts off National Poetry Month withsome poetry. Please join us on April 5th as we welcome Mary Jo Salter, one of the major poets of her generation. She will present her superb new poems along with selections from her previous award-winning collection in A Phone Call to the Future: New & Selected Poems.
Mary Jo Salter is the author of five previous collections of poetry and a children's book, The Moon Comes Home. She is also a playwright, lyricist and a professor in The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
Only a few poets transcend the history of taste to participate in the history of art and only in a handful of poems. Salter has been struck by lightning more than once, and (works in this selection) suggests shell be struck again. --The New York Times Book Review.
