last minute show!

this is one killer bill:

9pm
AURELIO VALLE (callamusic.com)
if you haven't caught one of the recent low-key acoustic shows by the magnificent calla frontman, you've been missing some beautiful and delicate renditions of calla material, unreleased new songs, and surprising covers.

10pm
SOFT (thebandsoft.com)
soft has been abuzz about downtown and have been drawing bigger numbers to each show along the way. their myspace description nails their sound: huge soccer stadium sing-alongs, gigantic layers of lush guitars, and bouncy beats. Fans of Stone Roses, My Bloody Valentine, early U2 tend to freak out.

11pm
The MARK GARDENER REVUE (rideox4.net)
mark gardener, ex-vocalist of seminal blisspop band ride, has been honing some new songs with his unique ear for melody, recording his new album with bill racine (mercury rev), backed by multi-instrumentalists joe and robin from goldrush (goldrush.mu) and shape-shifting singer/songwriter cat martino (catmartino.com). together their known as the mark gardener revue and they're off to san fran for popfest and doing some la gigs afterwards, so catch this unique combo before it's too late.

opening up the show is
KEVIN DEVINE
