Marissa Nadler is set to bring the haunting psych-folk of Songs III: Bird on the Water to the historic Whitney Museum in New York City, as part of the museum's Whitney Live performance series. Nadler released the album earlier this year to huge critical acclaim. Pitchfork calls the effort "the most engaging singer-songwriter release this year" and the Onion says "Not since Leonard Cohen turned the sound of a snowy day into a folk-music career has one guitar-playing singer-songwriter brought such a thick, lovely frost to acoustica."

Keith Abrahamsson, the Kemado A&R person responsible for her signing chimes in too, "After seeing Marissa open for Witchcraft in Boston armed with only an acoustic guitar, she was clearly tapping into a side of eerie, psychedelic folk that could have even metal audiences completely silent and engaged for a full set -- it was truly inspiring and we couldn't be happier to be working with such a talent."

For the uninitiated, Marissa Nadler grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, where perhaps the brutal winters bred into her a chilly disposition and an early propensity for the darker and more melancholy side of things.
