Marin Center Presents: Tango Fire February 21, 2009

Direct from Buenos Aires comes the highly-anticipated Bay Area return of Tango Fire to the Marin Center on Saturday, February 21 at 8 p.m. Considered to be Argentina’s gift to the world with its alluring and exciting dance forms, evoking sensuality and intrigue, the tango, born in the red light district of Buenos Aires at the turn of the 20th Century, brings both raw energy and knife-edge precision. The thrilling and colorful Tango Fire features five brilliant young musicians, passionate dancers and singers performing the timeless music of legendary Astor Piazzolla. Mikhail Baryshnikov said, “It is a dance of almost indescribable beauty, the grace of ballet and the fire of flamenco.”

The performance will take place at the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, 10 Avenue of the Flags at Civic Center Drive in San Rafael.
