Marin Center Presents: Soweto Gospel Choir October 11, 2008

As part of the 2008 North American tour, the two-time consecutive Grammy Award winning Soweto Gospel Choir brings its awe-inspiring vocal ensemble to the Marin Center. In a concert the New York Times considers “Meticulous and unstoppable…spirited and spectacular” listeners will hear earthy rhythms, rich harmonies, a capella and charismatic performances coming together to uplift the soul and express South Africa’s great hopes for the future. Singing in the 8 national languages of South Africa to an inspirational program of tribal, traditional and popular African and Western gospel, the 26 extraordinary voices that comprise the SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR compel their audiences worldwide to share the joy of faith through music.
