Celebrating Juilliard faculty composer John Corigliano's 75th birthday

CORIGLIANO Symphony No. 2
CORIGLIANO Symphony No. 3, Circus Maximus

The Juilliard Orchestra takes the stage of Carnegie Hall, led by acclaimed American conductor and Juilliard alum Marin Alsop in an all-Corigliano program celebrating the composer's 75th birthday. Winner of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2001 and scored for string orchestra, John Corigliano's Symphony No. 2 was commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra for the 100th Anniversary of Symphony Hall. Symphony No. 3, Circus Maximus is scored for antiphonally-placed wind ensembles, and will transform Carnegie Hall into the ancient Roman arena of the same name, through which Juilliard faculty member Corigliano strives "both to embody and to comment on this massive and glamorous barbarity"

Tickets $30 (parquet, 1st and 2nd tiers) and $15 (dress circle and balcony) available 1/4 at the Carnegie Hall Box Office, by calling CarnegieCharge at (212) 247-7800, or purchase tickets online
