Maria Muldaur is best known for her platinum hit 'Midnight at the Oasis,' which enshrined her in the minds of baby boomers the world over. Dyed-in-the-wool folkies know Maria Muldaur as a member of the 1960s folk scene in her native Greenwich Village and a denizen of Washington Square Park, where so much roots music was reborn. She's sung bluegrass, jug band music, soul, and blues. Deadheads know her as a backing vocalist and a part of the Grateful Dead family in the late 1970s. But the big picture of Maria Muldaur is broader than any of these individual manifestations. Maria has recorded tributes to Charles Brown, Peggy Lee, and Bob Dylan--who else could do that? She's made a dozen albums since the year 2000 alone, and she's coming to Michigan with a new one, recorded in New Orleans with some of her favorite Crescent City musicians.
