Mardi Gras Celebration February 21, 2013

The Village Tavern in Hammondsport's Village Square will host its annual Mardi Gras wine tour on Saturday. Revelers, many decked out in elaborate Mardi Gras costumes, gather at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Village Tavern for a New Orleans-style breakfast. Then, they're given party favors and loaded onto tour buses for a day of wine tasting at a handful of Keuka Lake wineries, including McGregor, Heron Hill and Dr. Frank's. As the wine tasters return, they participate in a lively Mardi Gras parade around the Village Square, tossing beads and candy at spectators. The cost is $60.
