"Rising Son" chronicles the rise, fall and rebirth of skateboard superstar Christian Hosoi. From his beginnings as an athletic renegade to his fall-from-grace stint in Federal prison for drug trafficking, and the miraculous recovery that has inspired millions of young adults - this piece is destined to inspire all who see it!

Using never-before-seen home movies of Christian from childhood through his release from prison in 2004, the film features interviews with friends and family, including Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Jason Lee and others. This is the true story of a skateboarding pioneer and legend."

THE FESTIVAL:

The first-ever MANIFESTO festival of urban music and art is set to take place throughout Toronto on September 20-23, 2007. The four-day citywide festival showcases a diverse array of talent that aims to pay respect to the roots of the city's urban culture, spark imagination, and to plant seeds for its future. With nearly 100 artists participating over four days, the festival represents a grassroots based coming together of Toronto's urban music community.
