Long Island-born filmmakers Jason Kohn and Jared Goldman's first feature documentary owes more stylistically to the American gangster film than a Frontline PBS Special. It is a breezy and stylized romp set to an infectious Brazilian soundtrack that documents a culture permeated with official corruption and rampant street violence. In a place where politicians steal billions with a pen, the underclass takes this message to heart and steals from the rich with guns.
