Malanka 2011 (San Francisco) - Ukrainian New Year's Eve Ball January 15, 2011

A word about "Bavmosia!" -- You may not recognize the name but you know the musicians (Lesya, Ola & Vadym) from the recent "Ukrainian Independence Day" and "Sontsevorot" concerts, among others, where they featured traditional folk music instruments of Ukraine. For Malanka they will entertain us with their exciting new repertoire of Ukrainian polkas, waltzes, tangos, and perhaps a little retro-disco, in contemporary Ukrainian-style.

"Bavmosia!" is a special name for musicians who play music for dancing and means "Let's go dance and have fun!"
