Examine the reasons why people are overweight and how the factors involved can be modified through new ways of thinking about food, eating, stress, and relationships in the class My Body - My Life offered through UNM Continuing Education. Learn how to make nutritional changes and changes in physical activity levels in order to attain a healthy weight. We will tackle the real life barriers to healthy eating, including relationship issues, cultural issues, and food attitudes and behaviors we learn as children. We will learn about the science behind why certain foods promote general health including healthy weight and immune system function, and why many common foods are actually keeping people overweight, tired and stressed. Take charge of your body!
