Music has the power to transport us instantly through time and space. Faster than Google Earth, a few bars and we're "long ago and far away." Antonin Dvorak's sumptuous Serenade for Strings is a musical postcard from 19th century Bohemia, the land Dvorak loved. A new trombone concerto from SF jazz star Wayne Wallace evokes the rich history of the people of early California and the transformation of Yerba Buena into San Francisco. And 18th century Austria will come alive under the talented fingers of our 2011-2012 debut artist, Hilda Huang, who will perform Franz Josef Haydn's delightful Piano Concerto in D Major. Come along on our musical journey--no passport required!

Join Maestro Ben Simon for an engaging pre-concert talk 30 minutes before the show! Doors open 45 minutes before show time. Admission is free, but tickets are required (available online or at the door). SFCO members receive priority seating and can make advanced reservations.
