In keeping with the MFA's Venetian theme in the coming months, a display of European & American canvases is on view in the Upper Hemicycle in 'Mad on Color: Paintings of Nineteenth-century Venice'. Works by Renoir, Monet, Whistler, & others show the influence of Venice's unique combination of water & light on the painting of the Impressionists & their contemporaries.
