In a meet-and-greet benefit for the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, actor Charles Shaughnessy, of “The Nanny” and “Mad Men” fame, will discuss his acting career, answer questions from audience members, share stories from the sets, pose for photos, and sign autographs.

The actor, who is fresh off a stint as King Arthur in Monty Python’s “Spamalot” at the Oguinquit Playhouse in Maine, is best-known for his role in the CBS show, “The Nanny,” when he played Maxwell Sheffield opposite Fran Dresher, as Shane Donovan in the daytime series, “Days of Our Lives,” and as Saint John Powell on “Mad Men.” Shaughnessy will be in Boston to conduct a private theatre workshop for youth affiliated with the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, many of whom have faced abuse or neglect in their young lives.

The meet-and-greet benefit will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Stoneham Theatre, 395 Main Street, Stoneham. Admission is $20, cash or check at the door. Proceeds benefit the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, a leader in child welfare, juvenile justice, and advocacy in Massachusetts. The agency’s statewide services include educational, residential treatment, and community outreach programs, which support, educate and rehabilitate children, helping them to grow into healthy and productive adult members of their communities.
