Macy’s Henderson Galleria Invites Those Touched By Heart Disease To “connect” And Share Their Stories In Celebration Of The Aha’s Go Red For Women® Movement February 4, 2011

WHO: Macy’s Henderson Galleria and Go Red For Women are calling on Henderson to Make It Their Mission to fight heart disease. CONNECT with loved ones and other Go Red volunteers to learn how you can save your life and the lives of other women. Join us at the Go Red CONNECT event to take action, Tell 5 and make a difference in the lives of Henderson women.

WHY: ● Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women. This means mothers, sisters and friends are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don’t know that heart disease kills.
• More women die of heart disease than the next five causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer.
• 1 in 3 American women die of heart disease, compared to 1 in 30 women that die of breast cancer.
• Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.
• Eighty percent of cardiac events in women may be prevented if they make the right choices for their hearts, involving diet, exercise and abstinence from smoking.
