M. Madhavan Nambiar, Special Secretary, Department of IT, Government of India March 19, 2008

In his role as Special Secretary in the Department of IT Nambiar has led many of the Government of India's initiatives in IT including 27 Mission Mode e-Governance Projects and establishment of 100,000 Community Service Centers (Internet Kiosks) to cover 600,000 villages through public-private partnerships. He has also been active in the formulation of IT policy for India: IT Act, Digital Signature, Cyber Security Issues, Export promotion, and the promotion of the High Tech Manufacturing. Prior to this Nambiar served in many positions in Tamil Nadu, including Chairman and Managing Director of Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Ltd, Chennai.
