Ekstasis Dance and Black Cat Productions present LUMINANCE IV, a multimedia Winter Solstice celebration that includes film, dance performance, original electronic music producers, DJs, an art gallery with live visionary art, original visuals, and much more.

Film
The evening begins at 9:00 pm with Black Cat presenting the film “Entheo:Genesis - Awakening the Divine Within,” which examines the re-emergence of archaic techniques of ecstacy in the modern world by weaving a synthesis of ecological and evolutionary awareness, electronic dance culture, and the current pharmacological re-evaluation of entheogenic compounds. Imagining consciousness itself to be evolving, Entheo:Genesis documents the emergence of techno-shamanism in the post-modern world that frames the following questions: How can a renewal of ancient initiatory rites of passage alleviate our ecological crisis? What do trance dancing and festivals celebrating unbridled artistic expression speak to in our collective psyche?

Dance Workshop
Following the film, the Ekstasis Dance Collective, led by Luna Ravenchilde and Area709, with progressive dance music dj Jay Michael, will guide us through a Winter Solstice Dance Ritual, a celebratory journey into the darkness to reclaim the light, letting go of what does not serve us from the previous year, and bringing in the new. It's a healing journey through the body, emotions and spirit using movement, breath, intention, and primal rhythm patterns.

Ecstatic Dance offers us the opportunity to move beyond our perceived limitations and constrictions - into a space where we come into contact with our innate wholeness and unity with everything that exists. To move beyond the duality in our everyday thinking, our inner conflicts, the disparate parts of ourself, and find peace in the stillness of our soul.
