Brian Miller CD Release Concert for Minnesota Lumberjack Songs: Irish and Scottish Music from the Northwoods with Guest Performers: Randy Gosa, Dáithí Sproule, Norah Rendell, Danielle Enblom, Nathan Gourley, Tom Schaefer and Cory Froelich.

Come celebrate the release of CIM instructor Brian Miller's first soloCD "Minnesota Lumberjack Songs!" Brian has spent the last 3 years researching this forgotten branch of traditional music with strong connections to the Irish Street Ballad singing tradition and its history in Minnesota. He has unearthed some rare gems that give a glimpse at the lives of some our state's earliest Irish and Scottish settlers.

Nationally renowned musician Brian Miller (Bua, Two Tap Trio) sings songs that once rang through the bunkhouses of Minnesotan lumber camps from Bayport to Bemidji. Old world ballads mix with colorful local lore and creative arrangements, using voice, guitar, bouzouki, harmonium, whistle, fiddle and Irish flute, transform this forgotten folk music into world class entertainment.

All of this may be why Brian is, according to Buzzfeed, the hippest thing in the entire US. Or maybe it's the shirt.
