Brooklyn's Lucinda Black Bear plays carefully written folk rock with stunning sonic arrangements (NPR's 'All Things Considered'). Lucinda Black Bear is the smoky supergroup lead by Christian Gibbs (of Passing Strange) and fleshed out by instrumentalists of the Brooklyn melodic folk scene: Mike Cohen on bass , Kristin Mueller on drums, Clare Burson on violin, and Chad Hammer on cello. The five-piece ensemble incorporates strings, feedback, loops, piano, and acoustic guitars to create tasty minor key melodic morsels.
