Brighton City Centre
Brighton, England BN2 1TB

Note: This is an evening ride, and goes from East to West!

For those of us who either couldn't be bothered to wake up early enough to attend the Sunrise Ride, or who just can't get enough of group cycling along the beach, here's another fun cycle dash over the exposed sand flats during one of the lowest tides of the year.

Meet on the exposed sand just to the East of Brighton Pier from 6.00pm. We will set up promptly at 6.30pm so that we're well underway by low tide at 7.17pm. The ride goes from the pier westwards towards the sunset. We should be able to pass by the West Pier and the King Alfred Leisure Centre, and we'll keep going until we run out of sand! (one year we managed to get right past FatBoy's house then about half-way to Shoreham Power Station...)

We often go for a swim/skinny-dip in the sea at the end of the ride.

Bring bikes, waterproofs, warm clothes, towels and lights. Remember to thoroughly wash the salt and sand off your bike afterwards. If you're worried about using your own bike, pick a scrap one up from a skip.

Why don't we start at the Marina? I have my best sandflat walks from there to the Pier until fear makes me don my kit.
