Documentary film pioneer Robert Flaherty's last feature, 'Louisiana Story,' is his most beautifully photographed work, but it also proved to be his most controversial as well. Sponsored by Standard Oil, the film can be seen as a paean to the minimal effect an oil company can have on the wilderness it seeks to exploit. The Ogden Museum is pleased to present photographs documenting the making of the classic film released in 1948. Taken by American photographers including Todd Webb, John Collier and Arnold Eagle, the exhibition includes over twenty 16" x 20" black and white images of the people of Abbeville, Louisiana, and the film's creative team, including Flaherty.
