Los Angeles Black Book Expo August 22, 2009

The fifth annual Los Angeles Black Book Expo takes place Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Expo Center. The one day gala showcases the written word via panel discussions, workshops, spoken word and youth activities.

The Expo allows lovers of books to meet and greet best-selling authors, publishers and literary professionals. The Youth Zone plans to be active this year along with a Teen Poetry Fest and the Expo’s first annual spelling bee is aimed at younger participants. Prizes will be handed out to the winners of both contests.
