Lorna Goodison - From Harvey River: A Memoir of my Mother and Her Island October 10, 2008

Internationally acclaimed Jamaican-Canadian poet, prose writer, and painter Lorna Goodison (The Tamarind Season, Goldengrove, Controlling the Silver) presents her latest work of prose, the luminous memoir From Harvey River. The author will read from and discuss this labor of love, in which she masterfully interweaves stories about her family members and their homeland in order to create a cohesive genealogy and a living record of a people. Goodison, an immigrant to both the U.S. and Canada, currently teaches at the University of Michigan and divides her time between Ann Arbor and Toronto.
