It’s Showtime – with Machinima

LATEST NEWS: we are delighted that Chris Carella from the world's largest design company for in-world creation: Electric Sheep, is joining us from the US - adding to our great line-up of session leaders for the seminar and tutorial.

Leading UK and US film-makers and designers using Machinima (using games and virtual world engines and platforms to direct and produce animation films - this is runtime movie content generation) come together for London Games Festival to lead a ½ day of tutorials and show-case sessions and Q&A on a mix of topics concerning the future of Machinima as a maturing industry in its methods of remunerating and recognizing talent through distribution and payment; whilst providing tutorials on Moviestorm – the totally FREE (including use of IP) engine, the best choice of games engine (focus on WoW, Halo 2, Sims 2), best camera techniques and the inside track on what the judges are looking for when making awards.

There is also a planned screening of the nominees and winners from the Machinima Festival Europe (tbc) and the chance of being invited to the exclusive big-screen preview of a major tour de force – a feature-length Machinima movie: BloodSpell, from Strange Company to be held in a screening room in London that evening.

Ricard Gras, LA-Interactiva (creator in Second Life); Hugh Hancock, Strange Company (director and producer within WoW, Sims2, Never Winter Nights, Halo2); Matt Kelland, Moviestorm (new IP-free and totally free engine and community); Chris Carella, Electric Sheep (largest design agency in world for in-world design) ; Dr Tracy Harwood, Machinima Festival Europe.
