Dual City Summer Sessions: LONDON BARCELONA 2011
Creative, inspiring, international short courses in art and design

The Dual City Summer Sessions are a series of intensive international programmes specifically created to present world-class cities from different yet complimentary art and design perspectives, they build upon the successful London Milan courses, now in their sixth successful year.

Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London is again collaborating with Elisava, Escola Superior de Disseny in Barcelona, to offer a fascinating European design journey over four weeks in Summer 2011. Starting in the vibrant, sprawling metropolis of London with its wealth of sources of inspiration from the past to the present and ending in one of southern Europe’s most desirable, design focused cities that continues to be at the vanguard of innovation.

Our courses are for portfolio-builders, current students, new professionals and creative individuals in advertising, architecture, art history, furniture design, visual merchandising, photography and theatre design. No previous specialist knowledge is required to join these courses and all courses are offered in English.

Course dates and titles for 2011:
27 June - 7 July at Central Saint Martins, London
8 – 11 July independent travel from London to Barcelona
12 – 22 July at Elisava Escola Superior de Disseny, Barcelona
(45 hours in each city, 10am - 4pm)

Experience Theatre: performing arts in London and Barcelona
During these four weeks students will be exposed to the latest, most relevant design thinking in their chosen subject from local and visiting English speaking tutors who are specialists in their fields, both as teachers and external practitioners often with their own businesses.
