Living Cool Panel Discussion

Visit the Blanton for an informal panel discussion in conjunction with Birth of the Cool: California Art, Design and Culture at Midcentury. The panel will highlight the enduring influence of 1950s West Coast style as reflected in the culture, architecture and lifestyle of Austin today. This event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Blanton's Capitol Room (Smith Building). Panelists include:

Annette Carlozzi, Blanton curator of American and Contemporary Art
Kevin Alter, Alterstudio Architects
Jeanne Claire van Ryzin, art & design critic for the Austin-American Statesman
Michael Nestor, general manager of the new Hotel St. Cecilia
Gail Chovan, designer and owner of Blackmail and Vivid
Carl McQueary, mid-century collector
Jeff Kirk, owner of Kirk Gallery (mid-century furniture and objects)
